The movie delves into Garfield's early life, showing him as a young kitten who is abandoned and searching for a place to belong.
He eventually finds his way to Jon Arbuckle, who adopts him after a fateful meeting in an Italian restaurant.
The plot takes a surprising turn when Garfield reunites with his estranged father, Vic, voiced by Samuel L. Jackson.
Vic, a street-smart and adventurous cat, ropes Garfield and his loyal canine companion Odie into a high-stakes heist, forcing Garfield out of his comfortable and lazy lifestyle.
